Need to hire an Online Architecture Firm from Mumbai, India in 2020

We are almost there, at the entry door to start year 2020 with fresh new ideas and perspectives for building homes in India. Over the years our online architectural practice has been contacted by various customers requesting to either buy or appoint us as there architect for their house design. It has been a good experience with most of our site visitors or our customers, but with years of our interaction we feel that still there are lots of doubts & confusion about the importance or need to hiring an architect online in India.

Building construction industry is changing and growing rapidly with different sustainable & eco conscious materials, but along with it there needs to be a change in the thought process when it comes to hiring an architect. As an architect keeps themselves updated about newer materials and construction techniques of construction it is imperative to clear the air and explain the need to have an architect for house design.

The common doubts / queries are:

Query 1: Do I need an architect; I am building a small house or its is in my village?

Query 2: Architects are expensive, so should I draw a plan online with a free software and the contractor can build it, or should I use a civil engineer to draw it along with structure design?

Query 3: I am only building a house of budget of 60 Lakhs, so can I afford an architect?

Query 4: I don’t know an architect who will make my house design (also affordable).

Query 5: I need to know the architect personally or through some family friends’ reference, otherwise how can I trust them with my money?

Query 6: Even if I hire an architect then I will have to pay up the fees in one go. And what if they run away?

Query 7: I am confident enough to draw a house floor plan on my own, so why do I need an architect?

Query 8: How do I trust online architects and there consultancy fee end their integrity? (I have not met them physically and not see their office as well)

Query 9: What if I don’t like the kind of work done by the online Architects then my money is wasted.

And there will be many more doubts and confusions while you move forward. So, if you have felt / agreed to few of the above-mentioned points then you are sailing in the same boat as many others So, with this we would like to explain each query individually as:

Answer 1
Even if you are building a house in an urban context or in a village you do need a well thought out house design and not just a house floor plan layout. An overall thought for the house will include natural ventilation, natural lighting and wind movement through the house. Which needs ac comprehensive thought and can be explained by an architect with floor plans along with sections and external 3 D views of the house. The overall design not just takes the families requirement to have different rooms in the house, but also about the height of the floor that should be considered along with window openings, location, etc. All of this eventually contributes in building a well ventilated and aesthetically admirable house rather than just a plan which is a jigsaw puzzle of rooms fitted in order or importance.

Answer 2
If you are budgeting to build a house of around 1000 to 2000 sq.ft. with an overall expenditure running from 40 lakhs to 80 Lakhs then you can expect to pay an architect fee ranging from 3.5 Lakhs to 7.50 Lakhs with structural design. Now an amount of 3.5 Lakhs to 7.5 Lakhs does look very expensive indeed (just as a no for some piece of paper), but think of it this way that it is the money invested by you to secure your overall investment (of 40 lakhs to 80 Lakhs) on constructing your house which should and needs to have proper though so that it lasts for years to come without much of repair work throughout its lifecycle.

Answer 3
Since you are not investing only 5 Lakhs to build your house (because its unreal amount on house construction which is going to be built with cement, sand and bricks) then think of investing your 6o Lakhs worth of money wisely (which is your hard earned money along with bank loan) with a professional architect as with their years of knowledge & expertise in the field and eye for sustainability & detailing it be good to navigating through the process of designing your house from start to finish well.

Answer 4
Yes you may not know an architect but with time we all have moved to online purchases be it flight rickets to groceries to mobile phones. It is time to embrace the change and look for bright architectural talent who has the knowledge and experience to work well along with you for designing and constructing your house. Do research & your home work for online architect and make a conscious decision of the kind of people you would like to talk to or work with. It’s important to see the kind of work that they have done and the kind of people they are. Talk to few of them to gauge your comfort level before moving forward.

Answer 5
Surely it is difficult to invest into someone you have not met personally. But in today’s day & age we are so reliant on internet for all most of our queries and all the services it offers us that it will be very primitive for us not to consider an online architect (good talent which is not available locally) & there services. It provides us an outreach which is just beyond our neighbourhood and it is one of the best times to make use of the architectural design services available from Mumbai by www.homeplansindia.com

Answer 6
Yes, once you hire an architect you will have to pay a fee for their services but all the fee is not charged in one go rather it is done in phases of building design and construction. It starts with an advance of 15% and then is followed by 20% or so through 5 or 6 different stages of design & deliverables. Your money is secured as that of a professional architect. The actual fee differs from Architect to Architectural Firm and can be discussed individually as per the project.

Answer 7
Yes, ofcourse you can draw up your plan, but with assistance from an architect you will be able to evolve a layout which is not just a puzzle of shifting rectangular boxes (aka rooms) from left to right or up to down. A game of developing house floor plan is little bit more complex than just a shuffle of room spaces as an architect we do consider climate, location of your plot, surrounding circumstances, etc. So do give it a try to work along with an architect to develop a design which will work the best for your plot and your family’s requirement in  2020.

Answer 8
In today’s day and age, we do everything online, be it searching for a school for our child or for locating a doctor or specialist for surgery. We get most of our answers for unknown queries from the internet, so why not to embrace the best of the online architectural design services?

Answer 9
The chances are equally high that you will like an architect’s work as an architect is playing the game of house plan designing with years of work experience in the field along with the understanding and knowledge of building construction, climatic analysis, site conditions, etc. Yes it’s a gamble, but isn’t it better to have someone who has more experience with house planning and design on daily basis.
