Installing Your New Garage Door
As a homeowner, minor maintenance is required. From time to time, you’ll find something to repair in your home.
The average homeowner spends about $3,000 on home repairs a year. Sometimes, instead of simple repairs, you’ll need to replace and install new features to your home. When it comes to your garage door, installing a new garage door will take a lot of time, patience, and effort on your part, but it’s doable. Installation Steps
In order to install a new garage door, you’ll need the right tools (tape measure, power tool, etc.), an instruction manual, a friend or relative to help you, a few thousand dollars, and 8 to 12 hours of free time.
Warning; the springs can be dangerous when removing as they are under a lot of tension, so please be careful.
Ensure the panel is level and secure before moving on to the next panel. You can secure each panel by nailing the sides into the wooden jam. Also, ensure each panel is properly attached to the panel below it before moving on to the next.
Each garage door is different, so be sure to follow the instruction manual supplied with your garage door. |
