Small Country House that is Supplied with Energy from the Earth for Air Conditioning
In this blog by Sky Marketing, we will see the design of a beautiful country house built with wood specially designed for cold climates; thanks to the use of renewable geothermal energy, heat is obtained for air conditioning. Discover Pluspuu Oy's proposal below.
Harmonious Wooden Structure Integrates with Nature

The volumetric aspect is that of a typical wooden country house; however, the use of glazed areas in the social area as well as the gabled roof with a large overhang, give it modernity and integration with nature.
Three-layer pine wood has been used for special exterior walls to withstand very cold climates, as well as a platform approximately 0.40 centimeters high above ground level that allows the house to be raised and protected from natural agents such as snow or Water.
In rural areas, it is important to build a platform that protects the structure of the house; this can be made of wood, stone, or other materials that harmonize with the environment.

Spacious and Bright Interior Spaces with Wood Finishes
Large social area
In the interior of the house, pine wood in its natural color shines, and wood of the same color tone has also been applied to the floors.
The spaces of the living room - dining room are well-lit naturally thanks to the windows on three of its sides (please see the plans of the house); the high gabled ceiling provides the feeling of giving the space greater amplitude.

wooden interiors
The equipment is modern; the chairs have wooden backs in tune with the interior finishes, and a steel extractor hood has been placed on the kitchen island, which is a material also used in the structure of the sofas and chairs.
Living room design with fireplace
In the center of the room, there is a black steel fireplace that, apart from complementing the heating function, is also a decorative part with the harmonious and balanced choice of colors in country house interior design.
Tiny Three Bedroom Cottage Plans
Ground floor plan – Area: 100 square meters
On the ground floor, the living room – dining room has a ceiling height and a half as well as windows on three of its sides (see right part of the plan), a linear kitchen, and a bedroom (a space that we believe can be used as a study room ).
Much of the year, the house supports cold climates, so the design of a sauna is appropriate; it is next to the shower and the 1/2 bathroom, the wet area being located on the ground floor.
In the mezzanine (mezzanine), two bedrooms and a living room have been designed in the center (see next plan); these intimate spaces have an additional entry of natural light through the front windows of the ground floor (please see the photo of the facade major). The dashed lines on the perimeter of the house indicate the overhang of the roof and, in the center, the highest point of the gable roof.

For the use of geothermal energy, the system is built on the foundations of the house. Although there are alternatives such as vertical drilling with a hydraulic system for the passage of heat from the subsoil to the outside through a tube, another type also used is horizontal geothermal. However, more space is needed for its implementation.
Constructive Details
The walls of three-layer pine logs are joined as a gear, leaving a bevel on both sides for the finishes; This construction system is an alternative to the typical unions of tree trunks
